This is what an acquaintance of mine would like to know; he fries his chicken Southern (U.S.) style, applying egg and buttermilk, and he monitors the oil temperature, but he can never seem to get the breading to adhere. Any suggestions?

I've sent offers, booked showings for tonight and enjoying the break - posting what I cooked and eating what I am posting at the same time. Chanukah started on Saturday night. Observed for 8 days, Chanukah celebrates the triumph of light over dark. After the Macabees defeated the Greeks and reclaimed the Holy Temple, they went to light the menorah (7 branched candelabra) and found that there was only enough oil to last for one day. Today I tackled a traditional Malay dessert called kuih dadar here in Singapore. It's basically a silky-soft crepe made from pandan juice, coconut milk and flour, with a wonderful gula melaka [dark palm sugar] and shredded coconut filling.
